Although weddings have come to take the major piece of pie in the pie chart for us, when we aren’t shooting love stories we are still taking family and senior sessions. It’s a major part of what we started out doing, and so there’s a big part of my heart that won’t let it go. Enjoy a few of our favorite portrait session shots!

This spring session of the Brewington siblings was one of my favorite family sessions of the year so far. These kids were so well mannered, up for doing anything I suggested, and absolutely adorable. Not to mention the great locations Mom Sandy found. They also brought along some perfect little props that I loved incorporating. Check out those wooden signs and bench from a barn on their property. The Dyers are such a great family. Brandon and I photographed Lacy’s wedding and got to know her parents through that, and Holly and I went to school together. Last month, we had the opportunity to photograph the whole family together for the first time since the wedding and we had so much fun. Mr. Dyer was a ham for the camera and was sure to create laughs for the rest of us, but I really loved how in love Mr. and Mrs. Dyer still are after years of marriage – it’s beautiful! 2010 was by far my busiest year yet. I was excited to meet so many new families and become a part of their lives by taking memorable photos of them with loved ones. In this post, you’ll see some of my very favorite photos from this year, including babies, children, families, and seniors. Many you’ve seen, some you haven’t…but all in all, still good to go back and see what the year brought. I can’t wait to see what 2011 has in store!
You might remember this little fella from his newborn photos back in May. He was so cooperative and easy going then, and it was the same with his 6 month photos. I met Kipton and his parents at their family’s farm house in Crossville. It wasn’t long before I saw the barn (and my eyes lit up – plus it was a gorgeous day with great afternoon light!), and we talked about all the fun places and ideas we had for the session. Cadence and her parents travelled all the way from Carthage for their annual family photos. This couple has a special place in my heart, as theirs was the first wedding I photographed. When little Cadence came along, I was so excited to meet her and I’ve done several photoshoots for them since. I always look forward to seeing them!
