Brittany & Russell ~ Wedding Day

Brittany and Russell got married on a gorgeous March day at the Collegeside Church of Christ in Cookeville, Tennessee. This couple is so much fun to be around – Russ has his own set of inside jokes that he likes to slide in anytime he can, and Brittany is the type of person who can punch right back. It’s actually super adorable and they each can make the other laugh with what seems like just a glance. Their wedding day started with a few minutes of time to be alone with each other (and us standing by capturing it of

Shawna & Myke ~ Wedding

Shawna and Myke’s fall wedding was a memorable one for us. For starters, Shawna and I have been friends for some time. Secondly, their day was all about their union. This couple opted not to have a bridal party but instead to simply have close friends and family there to witness their vows. No obligations, just love. And for bonus points – their adorable dog Cliff was their ring bearer, and he proudly displayed their actual rings on his collar and brought them to the altar for this bride and groom. So sweet. This October outdoor wedding was a chilly

Asia & Drew – Wedding

These two had one of the most precious wedding days. The weather was perfect and these two will make anyone smile just seeing them together. They are so genuine and loving, and even on their special day, they were concerned about making others feel welcomed and comfortable. Their ceremony was held in their family field, the same field where Drew proposed to Asia by carving “Marry Me” into a tree. Here’s the link to that precious engagement session. They had beautiful handmade decorations with vintage furniture and a gorgeous altar built from their family’s wood. Although their ceremony was literally the

Aubrey & Clay – Wedding

Aubrey and Clay’s wedding this summer was super fun. This couple has a great sense of humor that keeps you on your toes, but also has a beautiful appreciation for each other and those around them. Their wedding day was filled with people who had walked with them along their journey (which started actually way back in summer camp when they were just kiddos) and everyone there was smiling so big when Aubrey and Clay read their vows at the alter, as if they’d been waiting for this day for as long as the bride and groom. Their reception at

Katie & Sam – Wedding

Sam and Katie got married last summer, and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to blog their precious day. The weather was perfect and this couple was so excited to spend the rest of their lives with each other. Katie and Sam are both very driven – with Sam serving our country in the National Guard and Katie in graduate school, these two had to work extra hard to carve out time for each other, plan a wedding, and find a new home in a new state!  Their personalities mesh so well together but even more than that,

Best of 2013 – Weddings & Engagements

2013 has been an amazing year – beyond what we even imagined it would be. Brandon and I moved into our new home -with space for a brand new studio; and together we photographed some of the kindest, funniest, and most genuine people in the world on their happiest of days. From all over Tennessee to Kentucky, Ohio, Georgia and even New York, we met and photographed couples with stories each so beautiful and inspiring. And in doing so, we made countless new friends, for whom we are thankful. We can’t tell you how honored we feel that you all

Emily & Brad ~ Wedding

You may remember Emily and Brad’s engagement session from last fall. They are such a sweet couple, and we just knew their wedding would be extremely fun. This July, we packed up our gear and we, along with our amazing assistant (Sara, the photo-booth-photographer-extraordinaire) headed to Lexington, Kentucky for their big day. As with many of our weddings this year, the forecast was rainy. But the Carrick House in downtown Lexington provided a stunning indoor ceremony spot with windows all around so we still had some beautiful natural light too. As Emily walked down the aisle and Brad’s eyes moistened,

Kali & Grant – Wedding

This post may be a long one. We spent an entire day with this couple on the most beautiful day of their lives. Their families and friends were so incredible, and the whole day was absolutely packed with emotion. So much laughter, so many tears, and at the end of the day, a husband and wife were joined together in a beautiful godly union that I have no doubt will last their whole lives. Grant and Kali’s wedding day started out at her parents house in Hendersonville. It’s where she grew up, and it’s also where Grant proposed. In almost

Becca & Will ~ Wedding Day

We first met Becca when she attended the bridal show with her mom and sister. Although we met hundreds of brides that day, something about Becca stood out, we just had a a great connection right off the bat. She was our first bride to book for 2013, and the more we hung out with her and her sweet mom, the more excited we got for their wedding. Becca and Will opted for a gorgeous sunrise engagement session last fall, and we knew from that day that Will was a super cool guy to be around also. For their wedding,

Kelsey & Jesse – Wedding

Kelsey and Jesse (and their families) worked so hard for several months as they prepared a gorgeous DIY wedding in the field across from their house. It was to be a “country” wedding, and all of the decor was handmade. From the mason jar chandelier, to the hand-painted signs to the corn hole boards and the centerpieces – everything was made with love and in celebration of these two lovebirds coming together in marriage. It was a perfect and beautiful sunny Saturday in June – the only one we had without rain I think! As the bridal party and family
